About Me

I’m currently a Research Data Analyst at Caltrans, the powerhouse state agency behind 50,000+ miles of California highway, 13,000 bridges, 400+ construction projects annually, and the daily movement of over 35 million people.

I hold a B.S. in Statistics & Data Science and a B.A. in Economics from UC Santa Barbara, and am currently pursuing an M.S. in Applied Statistics at CSU Long Beach.

Some of my hobbies include surfing, reading philosphy and studying biology.

Caltrans — Sacramento, CA

Reserach Data Analyst ( May 2024 - Present)

Designed and deployed interactive Tableau dashboards used by 65+ managers to monitor a $50M annual IT operating expense budget, improving financial oversight and decision-making.

Led the development of a REST API integration with the enterprise accounting system, automating procurement tracking and eliminating manual entry—significantly improving data integrity and avoiding encumbrance lapses, yielding measurable cost savings.

Performed time series analysis on public cloud computing cost data to uncover spending trends and inform strategic optimization of government IT expenditures.

Conducted exploratory data analysis to identify key predictors of fiscal year labor costs; performed outlier removal and trained a multiple linear regression model for cost forecasting cost, as well as interpreted statistically significant results to senior management.
